Monet

Monet (born Bernadette Suarez) was a female freestyle\dance singer from the '80s. Not much information has been given about her, but from my point of view, she was one of the most talented freestyle musicians of the 80s.

From what I heard, Monet was supposed to be like freestyle\dance singer, Shannon, but she didn't receive a lot of popularity like her.
In 1987, she released her debut album "Leave the Lights On" on Ligosa Records. The album was produced by Chris Barbosa and Mark Liggett (who produced Shannon's hit song, "Let the Music Play").
Monet's first single "My Heart Gets All the Breaks" peaked at #19 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart, #7 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Maxi-Singles Sales chart, and #48 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 8 weeks.
The follow-up singl, "Leave the Lights On" (featuring singer Nolan Thomas) peaked at #76 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 7 weeks.
Three more singles, "Come on to Me," "Give in To Me" and "Do You Remember" were released, but didn't chart at all.

After that, Monet seemed to have faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from her since the '80s.
