Angela Clemmons

Angela Clemmons (born in Norwalk, Connecticut) is an R&B singer from the early to mid '80s. She has been singing professionally for over 20 years as a background & commercial jingle singer.

Angela has also recorded and performed with artists such as Ray Charles, Gregory Hines, Elton John, George Benson & Michael Jackson.
In 1980, she  released her first single, "Out Here On My Own" (from the movie "Fame") on Epic Records which peaked at #61 on Billboard's Hot Soul Singles chart, staying on the chart for 7 weeks.
In 1982, Angela released her self-titled debut album on Portrait Records. The album didn't appear to make the Billboard charts at all.
The only single to chart was, "Give Me Just a Little More Time" which peaked at #2 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play Singles chart.
In 1987, Angela released her sophomore album, "This is Love" which also failed to make the Billboard charts at all.
The first single from the album, "B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Baby)" (which was a cover version of Sister Sledge's 1983 song), peaked at #81 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 7 weeks.
The follow-up single from the album, the title song, peaked at #73 on Billboard's Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 10 weeks, making it her highest chart appearance to date.

After that, nothing much was heard from her and she had seemed to have faded into obscurity.

These days, Angela resides in Madison, Connecticut, divorced with two teenage children, is a real estate agent and part of a gospel workshop called "Shoreline Soul."
